Dreamforce 2017: Noun. 1. The world’s largest tech conference. 2. The Woodstock of the software industry. 3. Like taking a sip from a fire hose.

Salesforce’s 15th annual Dreamforce tech conference has been hailed as “The Learning Event of the Year”.

Dreamforce 2017 attendees have access to 2,700 sessions, plus metric tons of hands-on training, certifications, blueprint clinics, and many more educational opportunities. The San Francisco event can be a networking goldmine, if you take the initiative to seek out or arrange to engage with attendees, speakers, and old friends. You’re also sure to meet people who know Salesforce very, very well. People you can learn a lot from.

True to attendees’ expectations, Dreamforce’s featured speakers are true global leaders, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and thought leaders. This year’s marquee names include Michelle Obama and Ashton Kutcher (sorry, no Butterfly Effect Q&A is known to be planned).

In addition, there is a long list of other name-brand folks like Jenna Bush Hager,, and other ITP (impressively titled people) such as the CEOs of Adidas, YouTube, Girl Scouts USA, Uber, and Caesars Entertainment. You can learn a ton about customer experience and customer relationships by listening to these experts.

You may not be able to get into every session, but even if there are no spaces available, you can still watch from the big-screen TVs out on the lawn (and be comfy in a giant beanbag chair or lying on the grass). And if you can’t see everyone live, you can at least watch the recorded versions at a later point in time.

Prioritize and plan

No, you won’t be able to go to all the parties you’d like to attend, hear all the sessions, or see everything that looks awesome (which, let’s be honest, is EVERYTHING). The trick is to prioritize your time and focus on the great stuff you are able to get to.

To plan out your sessions efficiently, use the Dreamforce 2017 agenda builder. Salesforce has deployed its new Artificial Intelligence (AI) prowess to the problem of figuring out what you should spend your time on. Help arrives in the form of Salesforce Einstein, the thoughtful tool that will apply augmented intelligence and information about prior Dreamforce events to recommend sessions for you based on “your unique interests.” Now if Einstein could figure out where I can find a quiet place for dinner…

Visit the Dreamforce 2017 Campground

No, you don’t need to apply any bug spray, but you do need to visit the Dreamforce 2017 Campground. This is the place where you’ll see products such as the Salesforce Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Community Cloud, Success Cloud, Platform, and Quip in action.

You can also check out the Prediction Tree. The aforementioned Einstein technology is used to power the Prediction Tree, which is described as a “digital journey curated to your line of business” that will “light your way forward” to become more predictive and productive.
